In 2024, we had the privilege of collaborating with The Hg Foundation, a registered charity founded by private equity firm Hg, which is dedicated to empowering young people and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to break into the tech sector. Through this partnership, we contributed to several impactful projects that supported the Foundation’s mission and amplified its message and reach.

Event Filming:

Objectives:

Publicise the outstanding nonprofit work of the Hg Foundation and its 30+ global partners.

Amplify their mission to improve diversity and inclusion in the tech sector.

Build momentum in addressing disparities in education and employment.

Our work spanned a wide range of video and animated content, including filming and editing live events, creating branded video toolkits, producing content for the Foundation’s social channels and website, and crafting animated explainer films for use at live events.

Deliverables: Multi-camera shoot of the Foundation’s Annual Reception 2024, including vox pops, B-roll, and edited outputs such as highlights, hero films, and social content.

The brief: Film and capture the entire event, from setup to conclusion. The footage was to be edited, formatted, and delivered as multiple assets for web and social marketing content.

Key Challenge: Covering a large scale event with multiple presentations and activities.

Solution: We deployed a team of Cam Ops, Sound Engineers and Assistants with high end kit to make sure we captured every angle and aspect of the event. The footage was then edited into engaging highlights, insightful vox pops, and emotional storytelling.

European Filming & UK Hackathon:

Deliverables: Multi-camera shoots in the UK and Europe. Edits for social channels and website.

The brief: Filming key stakeholders in Paris to document major initiatives while also capturing a Hackathon coding event in the UK featuring school-age teens. Supply of edited assets for social channels and website.

Challenge: Minimising carbon footprint while managing logistics for international filming in Paris during the Olympics.

Solution: In line with our commitment to planet-friendly practices we utilised electric vehicles to transport our people and kit to the shoot sites.

To coordinate with multiple local and European stakeholders, we relied on solid project management skills to navigate the logistical challenges involved.

Conclusion

Animated Event Film:

Deliverables: 4 minute animated film formatted for both event screens and web.

The brief: Using brand guidelines create an animated film that explains the Foundation’s mission while highlighting its impact and plans for the future.

Challenge: Conveying both sensitive cultural information and human characteristics with simple iconography.

Solution: We utilised simple design referencing the Foundation’s brand guidelines while integrating distinctive cultural elements to the on-screen assets. To help convey human characteristics we added gentle character animation and sound design. This allowed us to inject moments of pathos and lightheartedness to retain audience engagement.

The work delivered for the Hg Foundation in 2024 showcases our ability to manage complex, multifaceted productions and deliver impactful storytelling. By tailoring content for diverse platforms and audiences, we amplified the Foundation’s mission of creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in the tech sector. We’re incredibly proud of the immediate successes these projects have achieved and their long-term potential to help more young people and underrepresented communities break into the tech world. It’s been an honour to help tell their story and further their mission.
